On July 28th, 1942 Stalin signed the well-known order ¹227 which received the name "No step back". The order mentioned the created penalty air squadrons. Until recently the documents on the penalty air squadrons contained the “Secret” mark, but now we can clearly say who and what for created these penalty squadrons. How did they affect the outcome of the war? What happened to the pilots that entered the air penal battalion? The film lists declassified documents and evidence of penalty pilots.
